For their 2024 retreat, the Chen Lab visited Spring Lake Ranch in Potosi, MO. Immersed in the beauty and serenity of nature, the team participated in collaborative, team-building activities designed to foster innovation, enhance productivity, and strengthen relationships within our research group. The retreat was filled with thrilling adventure, from hiking at Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park to horseback riding around Spring Lake Ranch. Team members bonded over fun and engaging activities, including volleyball, board games, and swimming. Collaboration was further strengthened through shared cooking experiences, such as making dumplings and enjoying hot-pot meals together. The retreat concluded with an insightful and educational discussion led by their fierce leader, Dr. Hong Chen, on the final evening. Overall, the retreat achieved its goal of rekindling passion for research and deepening the strong bonds within the lab community!
